Adjusting a thin tube

To adjust a thin tube correctly, first select the correct size. Cut the thicker part and the hook off the thin tube and slide the standard thick tube over it. Cut this at an angle so that it can be pulled through the red or blue Lifeshell sleeve. Pull the tube through the red or blue sleeve so the thick part of the thin tube is clamped inside the sleeve with the tube and cut the tube off as close as possible to the sleeve. If necessary, adjust the thin tube by bending it.

This can be done as follows:

  1. Disconnect the tube from the device.

  2. Place the earpiece in the ear and assess the position of the thin tube. Do not place the tube behind the ear yet. If the tube is sticking out from the head, the earpiece will work its way out. The tube will need to be bent into the right position to prevent this. (fig. 1)

  3. Insert the bending wire into the thin tube and bend it into the correct position.

  4. Heat the thin tube slightly with the blow-dryer, then check the position and cool the thin tube with freeze spray.

  5. Now check whether the thin tube fits around the ear correctly. (fig. 2)

If it is correct, you can attach the device to the thin tube.
